2019 Projects

2019 displays engineering concepts such as converting a part from a cast to a machined part. This will show the understanding of the use of a CNC machine and designing and coding for this type of machine.

Cast Assembly

Arbor Press

This project required one to transform the cast frame on slide 2 to a machined part as denoted on slide 3.

CNC Rocket

This was designed with two different pieces that would be screwed into each other. After the design process was completed it was machineed in a CNC . Using HSM works one created a bar stock that would start the program and from there machine process and machined tools were seleted to make the following.

Car Rebuild

In the year of 2018 there was a tragic accident where the car above rear-ended an individual and was pretty much totaled. After a year of working, saving, and learning the car was repaired close to its normal state. The car needed a plethora of new parts that include but not limited to: Radiator, Radiator support, Head light assembly, Fender, Hood, Wiring, etc.. The hardest part was bending the frame without a machine to do so. To accomplish this a diagram closely resembling slide 6 "Frame Diagram" was used to measure the frame and radiator support to spec. The frame was bent and alter using a wench and a tree.  Using what was taught in college the radiator support was bonded to the chassis using MIG welding. The biggest project for this project was fitting the radiator support and fitting the different car components back together due to altered frame.
